The History of
Olson Plumbing & Heating Co.
Since 1917, when "Olson the Plumber" served the plumbing needs of Colorado Springs residents on his 3-wheeled motorcycle, Olson Plumbing & Heating Co. has grown to become one of the largest plumbing, heating, and mechanical contracting companies along Colorado's front range.
In the early years, Olson's worked with Spencer Penrose at the Broadmoor and was even recommended by Mr. Penrose to do the City Auditorium in 1922. Over the years A.E. Olson continued to work for Spencer Penrose on various projects throughout Colorado Springs, and more than 60 years later, Olson Plumbing & Heating collaborated on the renovation of the Spencer Penrose home. Although ownership of the company was later transferred from Olson to Keith Trapp, it continued to bear the Olson name.

Olson Plumbing and Heating Co. has been involved with many projects that helped characterize Colorado Springs, such as: El Paso County Court House,
The Broadmoor Hotel, Compassion International, Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Audubon Medical Center, Columbine Hall/UCCS, Penrose Library District, Ramtron International, Penrose Equestrian Center, Penrose Hospital, Tutt Library and Colorado College.
As Colorado Springs has grown from a tourist destination to a high-tech manufacturing environment, Olson Plumbing & Heating has incorporated a high purity division, a medical gas division, as well as a 4,500 square foot clean room fabrication facility. This allows Olson's to manufacture components for semi-conductor, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and dairy industries.
The Trapp family still owns Olson Plumbing & Heating. In fact, five generations of the Trapp family have contributed to the company's success by incorporating the latest product developments while maintaining a commitment to customer service and high standards.

Olson Plumbing and Heating Co. is fully bonded and insured to handle any project from the smallest to the largest.
Safety
At Olson, safety is our first and most highly regarded priority on every project we do. Due to our internal safety policies, weekly safety meetings and hands-on training classes each and every employee attends, our accident rate continues to decline, with our Worker's Compensation Experience Rating Modifier being one of the lowest in the construction industry.
